The Camel Trail, just down the lane follows the route of the old railway line – it’s a two-mile meander to Padstow or three miles to Wadebridge. The Camel Estuary, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a lovely spot and full of pathways to explore by foot or by bike (which you can hire at Padstow) alongside the water or through the stunning dunes. The Sir John Betjeman Walk is particularly beautiful, or just take to The Camel Trail. If water is more your thing, there’s a plethora of water sports or if you’d like to try your hand at fishing, there’s fishing trips to be booked from Ferry Point at Rock where you can catch mackerel, bass and even shark. Beach-wise, you’re spoilt for choice with seven located around the Padstow area and one across the way at Rock. If you bring your golf clubs, there’s St Enodoc and Trevose nearby too.
