Yes, it’s that time of year again. Bonfire night is famous for its tradition of spectacular fireworks and Cornwall is no stranger to its colourful displays. Although this year many planned Bonfire Night events have had to have been cancelled, a new event has been planned so that locals and visitors alike can still enjoy fireworks this November – all from the safety of your own car. The concept is simple: buy your ticket, drive in, park up and watch the amazing display!
Royal Cornwall Showground: Fireworks Night – 1st Nov 2020
Whilst some of us start counting down to Christmas earlier than would be socially acceptable to admit, this year celebrations have been a little more tricky. Despite this and determined to go ahead with some form of Christmas festivities, Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and the Official Made in Cornwall Scheme have partnered up to host the Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair 2020. To be held in Truro’s Lemon Quay, the fair has been adjusted to meet Government guidelines and will be organised as an outdoor market, full of good ol’ Christmas spirit, goodies and hopefully a glass or two of mulled wine!
Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair – 23rd Nov – 13th Dec 2020
If you’d rather steer clear of organised events for the time being, there are also plenty of activities that you can enjoy just a stone’s throw from our cottages in Padstow. A particular favourite, walking is a wonderful activity this time of year, with miles of all-but empty footpaths to roam. Check out some of the best walks around Padstow here and revel in the overwhelming natural beauty of North Cornwall.
