Cornwall’s New Rules for Dogs on Beaches

Putting a whole new spin on summers for dogs and their owners, Cornwall Council has introduced pawfect new laws regarding the county’s seasonal beach bans.

It’s official, we all can’t wait to get outside and enjoy the beaches. Although there’s still a way to go before we’re treading velvet sands and paddling in turquoise seas, we can set our sights firmly on the horizon and daydream of days to come. And, best of all, when those sandy days roll around, we’ll now be able to share them with our four-legged friends too!

Thanks to new regulations brought in by the Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Public Protection, Rob Nolan, the up-to-now fairly strict dog restrictions that have been in place on Cornish beaches will be dramatically reduced. Originally imposed between May and September, the restrictions will now occur between July and August (except on beaches with Blue Flag status) and limited to the hours between 10am and 6pm.

Meaning that every dog can have the opportunity to play on golden sands and enjoy a holiday as part of the pack, these new, more lenient restrictions will make a huge difference.

So which beaches are affected by the new dog laws?
