Autumn is upon us and pure excitement for the magical season ahead is setting in. Crisp fresh air, trees tinged with rust and gold, early evenings perfect for relaxing, comfy layers, steaming hot chocolate, open fires, boisterous seas and oh, so much more.
If you are looking forward to spending autumn in Padstow this year, get ready for an enchanting time of year. To help you on your way to autumnal bliss, we’ve put together some of the top things to do in autumn in 2019 so you can fill your days with all good things.
All around Padstow visitors and locals are treated to spectacular views. For a real autumnal treat, don your layers, buy some fish and chips and eat them in your favourite spot. Whether it’s overlooking the harbour, nestled in a cosy corner or overlooking one of Padstow’s beautiful beaches, the fresh air will fuel your appetite and make your delicious fish and chips even tastier.
One of the best things about autumn is the quiet beaches. All around Padstow there are stunning beaches – and you can have them all to yourself. Well, apart from your four-legged friend, that is. As of October, the dog beach ban officially lifts meaning your furry friend is free to enjoy the area’s beaches to their heart’s content. If you are coming in September, fear not, as there are still plenty of year-round dog-friendly beaches nearby for you both to explore too.
Held until the 18th of October 2019, the Padstow’s National Lobster Hatchery will host the Lobsters Through a Lens exhibition this autumn in Padstow. Featuring work from world-famous artist Kurt Jackson’s recent exhibition, Crab and Lobster, visitors will be invited to explore the beauty and wonder of lobsters up close. Take in the artwork and learn all about the invaluable work of this incredible marine conservation, research and education charity. The exhibition is open every day between 10am and 5pm, and admission is included with your entry ticket!
Whether you are looking for a solo retreat to relax and revive, a romantic getaway to reconnect with your loved one or a get together with friends, autumn is a wonderful time for a luxury break in Padstow. Make your visit to Padstow even more memorable with luxurious accommodation to return to at the end of the day. Mind you don’t enjoy it too much though, as you may never want to leave!
As the days are turning cooler, there’s no better way to warm up than with a plate of hearty fodder and glass of your favourite tipple. Luckily, Padstow is blessed with some of the finest eateries and restaurants around, whether you fancy a long lunch or evening dinner. Restaurants such as Rojano’s in the Square bring out new menus for autumn too, so you can feast on mouth-watering creations from the warmth and comfort of an award-winning restaurant.
