March in Cornwall

March in Cornwall

St Piran's Day, World Pasty Championships and spring festivals; March is the month to celebrate Cornwall.

With January (the really long month) and February (the weirdly short month) behind us, March is a welcome treat. The year happily underway, we can finally look forward to longer days, milder temperatures and the start of spring. What’s more, there is another cracking line up of events to look forward to as well, from pasty champions to St Piran’s Day celebrations to floral festivities. Excited? We hope so. With your diaries at the ready, here is another list of unmissable events this March in Cornwall.

Food Festivals

Cornwall has well and truly gained a huge focus on the UK’s gastronomical map, with foodies coming from all over Europe and the world to get a taste of the South West. With a thriving fishing industry and emphasis on local produce, Cornwall is all about delicious, fresh food. To whet your appetite, head over to the World Pasty Championships at Eden to enter into the time-old (sort of) Cornish debate: who does pasties best? Later in the month, the Cornish Gin and Drinks Festival in Truro is an irresistible proposition. Ice and slice, please.
