Christmas is just around the corner and to start the festive season with a bang, head over to Padstow Christmas Festival.
Taking place from the 6th to 9th December 2018, Padstow Christmas Festival is just around the corner.
One of the UK’s largest food festivals, Padstow Christmas Festival is an unmissable celebration for anyone in the area. A unique event, it celebrates the best of local and national talent combined. Led the way by super foodies and Padstow-philes Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw, the festival brings together top chefs and local food producers and artisans showcasing their goods.
Increasing in popularity every year, the family-friendly festival attracts over 40,000 visitors. Set around Padstow’s harbour side, the festival is lined with lots of different stalls, each selling unique and delicious products. From food to fine craft, the festival offers the perfect combination for Christmas-lovers with a penchant for haut-cuisine. Say hello to local food producers such as Cornish Sea Salt, Da Bara Bakery and the Wonky Kitchen and sample culinary delights. There is even a wine theatre this year offering “an all-star cast” of Cornish wines and gin.
Ever had a burning question you have always wanted to ask about cooking? Now is your chance. Two theatres, the Festival Stage and the Sharp’s Chefs Theatre, are constructed for award-winning chefs to demonstrate their own recipes and offer their cooking top-tips. Viewers are invited to come along free of charge to the stages and ask the chefs their cookery-related questions. Becoming the go-to event for the country’s brightest and most talented chefs, it is an excellent opportunity to learn some pro tips.
Once you have had your fill of creative juices, take your time wandering around the festival. With over 100 local producers selling a wealth of gourmet gifts, from local ales, to hand-made jewellery, to Christmas decorations, there is ample to keep you occupied. Perusing the many stalls is the perfect chance to stock up on little presents for your loved ones, and of course, to treat yourself too. Music from the bandstand plays throughout the festival and there is also a chance to meet Santa in his grotto too.
Visiting Padstow Christmas Festival will give you a true taste of Christmas, South West-style. Amongst beautiful scenery and stunning views, this inclusive festival is a treat for all ages. Throughout the event there will be lots to watch and join in with, with spectacular fireworks, carol singing and a lantern parade all but a few things to look out for. Remember to also keep your eyes peeled for the arrival of Santa Claus, making his way on his horse-drawn Victorian bus.
For all the latest information and talk timetables you can visit the festival’s website. There is also a festival map provided for you to plan your visit so you won’t have to worry about missing anything.
